Master luthier Abe Wechter has created a visually and sonically distinctive axe featuring a patented headblock design with a 19th-fret joint giving you the feel of a solidbody neck on an acoustic instrument. Hand-scalloped top braces produce crystalline acoustic projection. It's built with a spruce top and maple back, sides, and neck with bound top, back, and fingerboard. The 3-pickup system by Wechter features a soundhole microphone and magnetic pickup plus an under-the-saddle piezo run through a 3-band EQ with magnetic/piezo blender to give you incredible tonal versatility. The standard and XLR jacks can be used simultaneously to further shape your sound. A phase reversing switch squelches feedback. It can be powered via a 9V battery or phantom power....details

The highlight of this creative and original design is a stunning, well-figured lacewood body. Accented with tortoise binding, the lacewood back and sides are attached to a spruce top for a resonant combination that's as appealing as it is toneful.The patented double-cutaway design allows a very electric-guitar-like 19 frets of access in addition to a rock-solid neck joint. The convex headblock construction with integrated soundhole bracing is stronger than any traditional headblock design and is more reliable and visually striking. A thin finish allows for more pure acoustic tone while the slim, fast neck and low action make it easy to play.Final set up and electronics installation is done in the Wechter shop in Paw Paw, Michigan, including premium coated strings, action adjustment, trussrod adjustment, setting the bone nut and saddle, filing the frets, buffing the finish if necessary, cleaning the fingerboard and bridge, polishing and carefully repacking every guitar, every time, so that we know you are getting a guitar that will play the best right out of the box.
